Meeting of students and teachers in Poland

 
 

Here is the agenda for our mobility in Poland.

DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
 

On the 6th of October, participants from Austria, Estonia, and Portugal traveled to Rybnik. The Portuguese and Estonian teams had especially long journeys, arriving by plane, while the Austrians came by train. Despite the long trips, everyone was excited to finally arrive. The students were warmly welcomed by their host families, while the teachers headed to the hotel.

 

DAY 2: SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND RYBNIK TOUR
 

On the 7th of October, everyone gathered at school for the opening ceremony, which featured welcoming speeches from the Head Teacher and David, the project coordinator. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as ice-breaking activities helped students get to know each other better. The morning included engaging workshops focused on enhancing communication, followed by a lively lunch in the main hall, where participants enjoyed delicious food and friendly conversation. After lunch, students participated in an AI workshop titled "How to Use AI Tools Sensibly," which sparked a lot of interest and creativity. While the students spent quality time with their host families afterward, the teachers enjoyed exploring the charming town of Rybnik and had a delightful dinner at a local restaurant.

 

DAY 3: WORKSHOPS AND AI ACTIVITIES
 

On the 8th of October, the group continued with inspiring workshops on mindfulness and engagement techniques, promoting a positive and collaborative atmosphere. The students worked enthusiastically on chapters for the project book, sharing ideas and supporting each other. Later, everyone had fun experimenting with the new ChatGPT advanced voice assistant, which added an element of excitement and discovery. The highlight of the day was the general knowledge quiz, where AI asked questions, and students eagerly answered in teams, creating a lively and competitive environment. The students also participated in an AI animal hybrid challenge, using the latest image generation tools to create imaginative and often hilarious animal hybrids. The best eight images were then animated with an AI image to video software and you can view the stunning results in the vide below.

 

DAY 4: CULTURAL TRIP TO KRAKÓW
 

On the 8th of October, the group continued with inspiring workshops on mindfulness and engagement techniques, promoting a positive and collaborative atmosphere. The students worked enthusiastically on chapters for the project book, sharing ideas and supporting each other. Later, everyone had fun experimenting with the new ChatGPT advanced voice assistant, which added an element of excitement and discovery. It was a day filled with creativity, teamwork, and laughter.The 9th of October was a day full of adventure, as everyone took a trip to Kraków. The group toured the beautiful city on electric buggies, enjoying the sights and learning about the city's history. They visited the oldest university, marveling at its rich heritage. One of the highlights was an enchanting boat tour along the river, with lunch served on a boat restaurant, which made the experience even more special. The trip was enriched by trying local foods, buying souvenirs, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of Kraków.

 

DAY 5: PODCAST CREATION AND DEBATE

 

On the 10th of October, students continued working on their e-book, putting in a lot of effort and creativity. They then began creating AI podcasts using NotebookLM, with each student and their host pairing up to write recollections of the week's events. The result was a wonderful podcast series called "Stories from Rybnik," which is now proudly available on the project website. The students also worked on special effects videos using PikaArt, creating short clips related to their book chapters, showcasing their creativity and technical skills. You can watch the incredible results in the video compilation below. 
 

The afternoon featured an exciting Oxford-style debate on whether "AI Poses a Threat to Humanity." The atmosphere was electric, with a large audience, professional equipment, and bright lights adding to the intensity. The Polish students argued passionately against, while the Portuguese students made compelling arguments in favor. Both teams did an incredible job, and the audience was impressed by their dedication and skills. In the end, the Polish team was declared the winner, but both sides were celebrated for their hard work and enthusiasm.
 

After the debate, the excitement continued as the winners of the three challenges were announced: the AI animal hybrid image, the AI advertisement video, and the AI special effects video. Cheers filled the room as the winners were recognized on stage, receiving small prizes and well-deserved applause. The day ended on a high note with a farewell barbecue, organized by the hosting students and their parents. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, as everyone enjoyed traditional Polish food, shared stories, taught each other dances from different countries, and celebrated the wonderful week they had spent together.

 

DAY 6: FAREWELL
 

On the 11th of October, everyone gathered at the school one last time to say their goodbyes. It was an emotional morning, with hugs, smiles, and promises to keep in touch. The Estonian and Portuguese teams headed to the airport, while the Austrian group departed by train. It was a week full of learning, cultural exchange, and the creation of new friendships that everyone will cherish. The bonds formed during this week were strong, and everyone left with wonderful memories and a sense of gratitude for the amazing experience they shared.
