DAY 1: SUNDAY – A JOURNEY OF ADVENTURE AND ARRIVAL
The journey to Saaremaa was long and exciting, involving trains, multiple flights, buses, and even a ferry. The traveling groups from Portugal, Austria, and Poland finally met in Tallinn on Sunday afternoon, where a small bus was ready to take everyone to the beautiful island of Saaremaa.
In total, 18 participants arrived: 12 enthusiastic students (four from each guest country) and 6 teachers (two from each country). The journey continued by ferry, providing stunning views, especially a memorable sunset over the sea horizon. Upon reaching Kuressaare, the island's largest town, participants gathered at the hotel where teachers stayed, while the host families warmly welcomed students and took them home.
Although the travel day was exhausting, everyone’s excitement overshadowed their tiredness, setting a positive tone for the days to follow.
DAY 2: MONDAY – CURIOSITY AND COMMUNITY EXPLORATION
The first day of activities began at Aste Basic School, with a warm welcome from Maia Tõhk, the Estonian coordinator, who gave an insightful presentation about the school, highlighting its values, history, ongoing activities, and future goals. This was followed by an engaging workshop on curiosity, directly linked to the project's main product, the digital book titled 11 Rules for Life. Students actively participated and learned valuable lessons on nurturing curiosity, a theme they later used when working on their digital chapters.
After lunch in the school canteen, the group visited the local municipality of Kuressaare. Mrs. Thule Koda led an interactive presentation addressing Saaremaa's digital transformation strategies, environmental challenges, and integration plans for AI technologies. Students were involved in completing worksheets and actively engaging in discussions.
The afternoon concluded with a relaxing walk through Kuressaare’s charming city center. Afterwards, students returned to their host families, where they enjoyed a variety of evening activities, including sports, social games, tasting traditional Estonian cuisine, cooking together, and relaxing visits to a local spa.

DAY 3: TUESDAY – DISCOVERING AI CREATIVITY
Tuesday was dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI), with workshops led by David Satler, the project coordinator from Austria. Students gathered in the computer classroom, focusing on mastering AI tools for creating visuals, such as Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Imagen 3, Leonardo AI, and Mistral le Chat.
After a detailed demonstration of these tools, students experimented by generating their own AI-based images. Later, they worked in teams, each tasked with designing a chapter (chapters 9, 10, and 11) of the project's digital book, 11 Rules for Life. Students took specific roles within their groups: some generated AI images, others designed chapters using Book Maker software, and the remaining members created interactive quizzes using Quizizz. Each team presented their chapters, explained their creative decisions, and demonstrated their quizzes, receiving constructive feedback from peers and teachers.
In the second session, students embarked on a fun AI Video Challenge, using Hailuo AI to produce short clips featuring themselves interacting humorously with unusual pets like sharks, tigers, and crocodiles. They also composed playful song lyrics using Grok.AI and created corresponding songs through Suno AI. The best videos were set to be recognized later in the week, adding excitement and motivation to the task.

DAY 4: WEDNESDAY – VISIONS OF EDUCATION AND HISTORY
On Wednesday, participants visited Kuressaare Vocational School, starting with a guided school tour and a detailed presentation about the Estonian educational system. Next, teacher Erik Riige led another interactive AI workshop focused on visual creation using Canva, Midjourney, and Adobe Firefly. Students creatively designed sketches of new video game controllers with innovative features, converting their ideas into professional product visuals through AI. The session concluded with student presentations and peer feedback.
After lunch at the school's canteen, the group moved on to the modern and impressive Saaremaa Gymnasium. There, they experienced firsthand what constitutes an ideal learning environment—spacious classrooms, natural materials, areas designed for relaxation and socializing—elements directly connected to chapter 11 of the project’s book. Merje Tammai and student Janar Sepp presented the school’s active engagement with Erasmus+ projects and showcased impressive AI-created materials, including videos, music, and a virtual school tour developed with AI-supported coding.
The day culminated with a fun, educational treasure hunt at the historic Kuressaare Episcopal Castle. Using worksheets, students explored the castle, enriching their understanding of the region’s fascinating history in an interactive way.

DAY 5: THURSDAY – CULTURE, COMMUNITY, AND CELEBRATION
Thursday was devoted to cultural exploration, starting with a visit to the Loona Nature Centre. Participants gained in-depth knowledge about Saaremaa’s unique wildlife and the environmental challenges the island faces. Afterward, the group visited Lümanda Siirupiemandad, a local juniper syrup producer, where they learned the traditional syrup-making process, sampled various syrups, and collected some as souvenirs. Lunch was served at Lümanda Söögimaja, where everyone enjoyed delicious traditional Estonian meatloaf with potatoes.
A brief yet enjoyable stop at the whimsical Sheep Parliament allowed participants to admire amusing sheep figures creatively crafted from local stone.
The afternoon continued at the Aste Club House, where students engaged in a meaningful workshop conducted by Marje Altrov on “Giving Back,” corresponding to chapter 10 of the project’s digital book. Participants discussed impactful ways to contribute positively to their local communities and society.
The evening’s highlight was a festive social event at the Aste Club House. Estonian hosts received a heartwarming surprise: a music video created with Suno AI, showcasing photos and cherished memories from the week's adventures. The emotional presentation was followed by an exciting voting process, where teachers served as a jury to select the winning AI-generated videos created by students earlier in the week. A live-updating interactive Google Sheet kept the excitement high as winners were revealed one by one, and each victor proudly chose an Estonian souvenir as their prize.
The night concluded with traditional dances taught by each participating country, lively social games, delicious food, and snacks generously brought by local families. A final feedback session closed the evening, capturing valuable impressions and reflections from participants.

DAY 6: FRIDAY – FAREWELL AND FEEDBACK
Friday morning marked the end of an extraordinary week. Participants said heartfelt goodbyes to their hosts at Aste Basic School before beginning the journey back to Tallinn by bus and ferry. As they traveled homeward, students and teachers completed an online Google Form questionnaire, providing valuable feedback on their experiences, offering suggestions, and reflecting on what they learned throughout this enriching mobility.
Everyone parted ways grateful, enriched by new friendships, skills, and unforgettable memories.
