Transnational Meeting of Teachers in Austria

From February 20th to 22nd, the first event of our Erasmus+ Project ADAPT unfolded in Deutschlandsberg, marking an exciting beginning to our collaborative journey. Welcoming a delegation of six teachers, with two representatives from each participating country—Portugal, Poland, and Estonia—the event was filled with enthusiasm and shared purpose.

The gathering began with warm greetings and the exchange of tokens symbolizing our diverse cultures, swiftly transitioning into a comprehensive overview of our project's objectives and roadmap. Foremost among our discussions was the upcoming venture to Portugal scheduled for May 2024, where two teachers and four students from each country will team up to begin working on our main initiative: an interactive e-book, harnessing cutting-edge AI tools.

Deliberations extended to meticulous budget planning for the upcoming trip and the project at large, with a collective effort to optimize resource allocation. With precision, we mapped out the timelines for forthcoming project milestones, ensuring alignment and clarity.

Evenings were packed with social gatherings, including a delightful dinner at a local restaurant and a spirited team-building session through bowling at our accommodation, Jufa Deutschlandsberg.

The second day started with engaging workshops, beginning with an insightful session on e-Twinning, where we navigated the platform's features and established our project's digital presence. Subsequently, participants immersed themselves in a hands-on workshop, leveraging state-of-the-art AI tools—such as Microsoft Copilot, Suno AI, and Invideo—to craft concise e-book prototypes within the intuitive framework of Book Creator.

Here are some examples of the (drafts of the) books we have created during our workshop.

A Book About the Virtual and Physical Reality

As the sun set, we embarked on a cultural exploration of Graz, immersing ourselves in the city's vibrant atmosphere and partaking in a jovial pub quiz, encouraging companionship and connection.

The culminating day centered on an enriching visit to our host school in Deutschlandsberg, where attendees were treated to demonstrations showcasing technology-enhanced English teaching methodologies. With a presentation of the platform, "The Kingdom of English," coupled with an immersive tour of the school facilities, facilitating fruitful exchanges with our colleagues.

In a reflective finale, we convened for a comprehensive feedback session, affirming our commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Deutschlandsberg event stands as a testament to the collective dedication and vision driving Project ADAPT forward, setting a promising precedent for future endeavors.
